Fujairah and Abu Dhabi Swimmers Shine at UAE Open Water Championship

The UAE Open Water Championship hosted in Dubai saw over 70 swimmers compete. Fujairah's Oktavian Lobo won the men's 5km, while Abu Dhabi and Al Wasl secured top spots in various categories.

As part of the competition for open water for children and adults in the UAE, sportsmen from Fujairah, Abu Dhabi, and Wasl impressed.

Participants competed on the beach of Jumeirah under the aegis of the Dubai International Water Sports Club. More than 70 athletes from the clubs of the country took part in them.

The winner of the competition among adults over a distance of five kilometers was the sportsman from Fujairah, Oktavian Lopo. He showed a time of 1:00:05:01, ahead of Alberto Bosledio and Zaid Al-Jaberi from Abu Dhabi.

At the distance of three kilometers, the victory among teenagers aged 14-15 was taken by an athlete from Abu Dhabi, Zak Jilisus. The second in this distance finished the representative of the club "Wasl", and the third - Mokhammed Al-Yamahi from Fujairah.

At the distance of five kilometers among teenagers aged 16-17, the first to finish was Omar Khader from "Wasl". The second and third places were taken by Hamad Al-Ali and Sulaiman Al-Hanai from Fujairah.

In the overall ranking, the club from Abu Dhabi scored 70 points and took first place, the second was "Wasl" with the same result, and Fujairah came third with 30 points. In the children's category, first place was also won by Fujairah with 180 points, breaking the leadership from "Wasl" and Abu Dhabi. The Fujairah club demonstrated excellent results both among teens aged 14-15 and 16-17, outscoring "Wasl" and Abu Dhabi.
