Rashid Al-Balushi, a lightweight cyclist, shares his ambitions for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, noting that his participation in the Sharjah-Tur and the Asian Championships in road cycling in Thailand serves as a starting point for international recognition in cycling. "My start was late in the national team of the cycling sport at 30 years, but I have big ambitions to represent the country at major tournaments, including the 2028 Olympics," he said.

Rashid Al-Balushi drew attention to his first international appearance at the Asian Road Cycling Championships in Thailand this February, achieving sixth place in the individual time trial among 20 participants, although he was ranked second, then moved up in the overall standings and successfully completed the most challenging race of 171 km with climbs, finishing ahead of professional cyclists and taking 13th place among 71 participants.

"My sports path began with a specific sport since childhood, as my uncle was a trainer and a steward in a specific sport, and I joined competitions in the specific athletic sport in 2010. Since then, I have achieved numerous victories and accomplishments, with the most significant success being winning at the Royal Windsor Horse Show in the UK in 2013," added Rashid.

Speaking about his transition to the national cycling team, Rashid expressed gratitude for trust and the opportunity to represent the country as its spina, noting that participation in various international competitions is an important step toward his main goal - the Olympics.

"My ambitions in cycling include qualifying for the Olympics, and I believe that members of the national team can achieve this. It started at the Sharjah-Tur, and I think we have achieved success, winning in the overall standings, I and my friends in the national team for the first time," concluded Rashid, promising to continue training to achieve his goals.
