
More than 1,700 participants took part in the 15th edition of the cycling event. The top 25% of participants in the adult group qualified for the 2025 UCI Gran Fondo World Championship, which will be held in Australia later this year. The leaders among elite cyclists, Francesc Llamon and Mahabbat Umukhtanov, took the top spots on the podium, earning 10,000 dirhams each at the 15th Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge. Sean Kerry and Helle Barkhofen became absolute champions among men and women in the overall competition of the Aster Pharmacy BIG 5, winning the yellow jersey (45+).
The start of the participants took place at Expo City Dubai, attracting more than 1,700 participants to the main event of the race at 92 km, as well as over three thousand cyclists registered for various distances on the weekend. Dubai was alive on the weekend: thousands of cyclists set off from Expo City Dubai, fueled by electric energy of unity and festive spirit.
As part of the 2025 Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge, elite cyclists took to the roads of Dubai, with 346 participants securing their spots at the UCI Gran Fondo World Championship in Lorne, Australia. Race Director Stuart Haussin said: "The 15th edition of the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge was nothing short of phenomenal. We are proud that so many riders qualified for the 2025 UCI Gran Fondo World Championship in Australia, demonstrating the growing popularity of cycling in the region."
Also successfully conducted was the family run The Live Well Outride covering 35 km with a shortened version of 12 km. In the veterans' category, the awards were received by Simon Cox and Adriana Sanchez. Starting events six runs, young riders participated in the InstaShop Junior Rides.
Absolute winners of the Aster Pharmacy BIG 5 became Sean Kerry and Helle Barkhofen with times of 2:01:49 and 2:02:26, respectively. The Director of the race, Haussin, also thanked RTA, Dubai Police, and Dubai Sports Council for their support over the past 15 years. Llamon led the race, followed by Maxim Orechov and Jasper Verkijil, who claimed podium spots with times of 2:01:47.
