In the final, Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, currently ranked 21st in the world, will face Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, ranked 11th in the world.
"The first Canadian in history to reach the final," said Felix Auger-Aliassime, who yesterday overcame the semifinal barrier by defeating France's Constant Lestienne. The match concluded with a score of 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 after 2 hours and 18 minutes of play.
Tsitsipas reaches the final for the third time after participating in 2019 and 2020. His path to the final included a victory over Dutch player Tallon Griekspoor with a score of 6-4, 6-4 in 1 hour and 23 minutes of play.
The holder of two previous titles, 6th in the world rankings, Russian Daniil Medvedev, and 15th Frenchman Hugo Humbert, have vacated their spots for the possible emergence of a new champion of the tournament.
Also in the men's doubles final of the Dubai Tennis Championships will be Harry Heliovaara from Finland and Henry Patten from Great Britain against Alex de Minaur from Australia and Rohan Bopanna from India. In the first semifinal, Heliovaara and Patten defeated the Dutch duo of Robin Haase and Hendrik Habbes. In the parallel semifinal, the pair of De Minaur and Bopanna won against the British pair of Jamie Murray and Australian John Pearce.
