In the last five rounds of the ADNOC Pro League, no foreign referees have officiated, despite significant matches taking place. As competition intensifies, teams are avoiding hiring foreign officials, leading to questions about their effectiveness in critical games.

No Foreign Referees in Recent UAE Football Matches

In the past five rounds of the Udnok League for professionals in football, we have not witnessed the presence of foreign referees, despite the importance of the matches that took place during this period. Al-Ahli youth scored 47 points, surpassing Sharqah by seven points and Wahda by nine, indicating the level of competition this season.

It is noted that foreign referees officiated the league 10 times until round 18, and they distinguished themselves by their presence five times in the decisive matches. In evaluating the performance of the referees, former international referee Abdulrahman Al-Ajil stated that the close contention for the title by Al-Ahli youth, with 80%, contributed significantly to the absence of foreign referees, noting that there is no need to pay large amounts of money for that.

Al-Ajil clarified: "The proximity to the title for the benefit of Al-Ahli youth instead of foreign referees lightened the pressures on them, which allowed them to manage the matches more calmly, until we now have local referees participating in the management of the matches." He confirmed that the last three rounds witnessed a return of local video referees to participate in managing the league, which is a positive development added to the context of the competition.
