Abdullah Al-Adjil, a former international referee, stated that the arbitration of the match between 'Al-Uaida' and 'Shabab Al-Ahli' on Saturday at the Zabeel Stadium within the framework of the 23rd round of the Professional League UAE was impeccable, and there were no substantial mistakes affecting the outcome. He also noted that referee Omar Al-Ali is ready to officiate matches at the 2026 World Cup.
"The match was conducted without any signs of referee errors, regardless of the significance and tension of the situation. None of the teams suffered from referee decisions. Omar Al-Ali was stable and professional," said Al-Adjil for 'Al-Emarat Al-Youm'.
Omar Al-Ali officiated the match alongside international referee Adil Nakbi, as well as assistants Mohammed Ahmed and Akhmed Rashidi. They also participated in the final games of the AFC Champions League in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Following this, Omar Al-Ali and his colleague Adil Nakbi were named among the referees who may officiate matches at the next World Cup, and Omar Al-Ali was also selected as the main referee for the 2025 Club World Cup tournament in the USA.
"Although such matches invariably avoid noted errors by the referee, overall, the referees made proper administrative decisions, including video assistant referee (VAR)," concluded Al-Adjil in his statement.
