Massa Sues Formula-1 Officials

Brazilian driver Felipe Massa has sued Formula-1 officials in the London High Court, seeking £64 million in compensation for the 2008 championship title he believes was stolen due to a deliberate incident at the Singapore Grand Prix.

Massa Sues Formula-1 Officials

The Brazilian driver filed a lawsuit with the London High Court against Formula-1 officials in 2008, seeking compensation of 64 million pounds with interest for the title being stolen from him and awarded to British driver Lewis Hamilton by one point. The former Ferrari driver believes he was more deserving of the title than the Mercedes driver, and that Nelson Piqué Jr. of Renault deliberately crashed into the barrier at the Singapore circuit that season, which resulted in the safety car being deployed and disrupting Massa's race.

The Brazilian driver claims that then-Formula-1 chief Bernie Ecclestone and then-FIA president Max Mosley failed to investigate the incident and accuses them of covering up the truth.
