The «Zelzal 25» dhow, owned by Abdullah Mohammed Al Marzouqi and skippered by Marwan Abdullah Al Marzouqi, won the Dubai Traditional Dhow Race 60ft category today. The event, organized by the Dubai International Marine Sports Club, featured 64 of the top racing dhows in the UAE. According to a statement from the club, the race was intense and fast-paced, reflecting the skill and experience of the participants and the power of the 60ft dhows. All teams adhered to safety instructions, with every dhow pushing to its limits to secure a top position in one of the most important races of the current sporting season. The award ceremony was held at «Dubai Harbour», where Mohammed Al Marri, Director of Sports Affairs at the Dubai International Marine Sports Club, crowned the winners. Second place went to the «Shaqi 96» dhow, owned and skippered by Bateesa Mousab Al Ghashim Al Marri, while the «Tuf 9» dhow, owned by Mohammed Rashed Al Remeithi and skippered by Yousuf Ahmed Al Hamadi, secured third place. Mohammed Al Marri expressed his appreciation for the efforts of all participants, stating that their performance indicates that the 60ft dhow races will be highly competitive. «The race met all our technical expectations in terms of speed and course accuracy, making it a spectacular event,» he said. «While we congratulate the top finishers, we also commend all the competitors for the beautiful display of racing we witnessed from the sea and through aerial footage».
