Al-Wasl Club has announced that star player Fabio Lima has injured his adductor muscle. In a statement posted on platform X, Al-Wasl said: «Medical examinations that the team player Fabio de Lima underwent yesterday confirmed his injury to the adductor muscle». They added: «The player needs a rest period of four to six weeks». As a result, Fabio Lima is now out of the national team's coaching staff's plans for the next two matches against Iraq on the 13th and 18th in the fourth round of the Asian qualifiers for the World Cup 2026 play-offs. Lima has scored three goals for Al-Wasl in the league this season, helping the team secure 14 points from four wins, two draws, and one loss, to occupy fourth place alongside the defending champion Shabab Al-Ahli, who are in third place.
