The Basketball Federation announced yesterday the formation of a committee aimed at discovering talent (future players), which will be responsible for developing the necessary mechanisms and plans for their discovery and optimal development to serve the sport and national teams. President of the Basketball Federation, Abdul Latif Al-Fardan, stated: «The decision came out of a firm belief in the importance of discovering and nurturing talented individuals at various age groups, and working to develop their abilities and channel their energies in a way that contributes to preparing a distinguished generation that serves our national teams». He added: «The committee was formed under the chairmanship of a member of the Federation's Board of Directors, the Assistant Secretary-General, Head of the (3X3) Committee, Hamdan Saeed Al-Zaabi, and its membership includes the National Teams Manager, Rashid Al-Naqbi, Adel Mohammad Saqr from Al-Nasr Club, Ali Al-Hattawi from Al-Ahli Club, Mohammad Abdulhamid Al-Hosani from Al-Wahda Club, Khalid Obaid Ghabesh from Al-Sharjah Club, in addition to the Technical Director of the Federation and National Teams, Dr. Muneer bin Al-Habib».
