The second race of the new season kicks off at Jebel Ali Racecourse today at noon. The event features seven races, with the first dedicated to Purebred Arabian horses. The remaining six races are for Arabian Thoroughbreds, supported by leading state institutions and companies. The total prize money amounts to 620,000 dirhams, with 74 of the best local and international horses competing for the titles. The first race, over 1000 meters, will see 16 Purebred Arabian horses aged four and older compete for the 'Porsche Cup' with a prize fund of 50,000 dirhams. The excitement continues in the fifth and sixth races, classified under the 'Handicap' category, each with a prize fund of 120,000 dirhams. The Speed Championship, sponsored by the 'Emirates Speed Series', will feature 9 elite horses competing over 1000 meters on the sand. This will be followed by the 'Emirates Cup', which will see 7 of the finest horses compete over one mile (1600 meters) on the sand.
