Uruguayan jockey Federico Ferrer won the Al Wasl Endurance Cup for private stables over a 101 km distance, yesterday, at the Dubai International Endurance City in Seih Al Salam. The event saw the participation of 106 jockeys from various private stables and equestrian clubs across the country. Federico Ferrer secured the top spot on the horse 'Palmeiras', owned by Al Ain Endurance Stables, by maintaining his presence among the top five riders throughout the four stages of the race. He finished the first stage in fourth place with a time of 1:16:30, moved up to third in the second stage with a time of 2:11:20, dropped to fifth in the third stage with a time of 2:57:12, before jumping into the lead in the fourth stage with a time of 3:33:23. Jockey Maytha Al Qubaisi claimed second place on the horse 'Picnic Park Parisian Down', owned by Za'abel Stables. She started sixth in the first stage (1:16:42), advanced to second in the second stage (2:11:18), came third in the third stage (2:56:59), and reclaimed the second position in the fourth stage with a time of 3:33:46. The bronze medal went to jockey Manshur Al Shaddi on the horse 'Nile Boy', also from Za'abel Stables. He began in ninth place (1:16:55), dropped to tenth in the second stage (2:11:47), moved up to eighth in the third stage (2:57:37), and completed the race in third place with a time of 3:33:47.
