Al-Wasl player Nicolas Jimenez revealed that he has not yet received any official notification from the Football Association regarding his call-up to the national team squad for the Arab Cup tournament to be held in Qatar early next December, indicating that he is in a period of waiting and anticipation for what the coming days will bring. This comes at a time when Al-Wasl club announced the nature of the injury Jimenez sustained during the national team's match against Iraq, clarifying that the player suffers from a strain in the back muscle, without specifying a clear date for his return to training or catching up with any upcoming commitments, whether with his club or the national team. Jimenez said to "Al-Ittihad": "No official has informed me yet of a call-up to the national team, my situation is still unclear, and perhaps I will be with the national team and perhaps not, the final decision will become clear in the coming days". The player preferred not to comment on any matters related to the national team or the reasons for missing out on a chance to qualify for the World Cup, contenting himself with saying that his focus is currently on recovering and returning in the best possible shape. These statements came a few hours after the player posted an emotional message on his account on the "X" platform, in which he expressed his deep sorrow over the national team's exit from the World Cup qualifying race. He said in his message: "I feel what an entire country feels. I have never felt anything like this in my life". He added: "I wanted the same thing that every Emirati wants, which is to qualify for the World Cup, and for that reason, all I want today is to apologize. In the four matches I played, I gave everything I had and more, we wanted to achieve this dream just as you wanted it". Jimenez concluded his message by affirming his adherence to hope and continuing to work for the national team, saying: "Today this chapter is closed, but what remains is to continue fighting and believing, this country deserves to return to the World Cup, and every minute I wear this shirt, I will give everything I have". "It is very painful to see that dream fade away".
