Shabab Al-Ahli player Eid Khamis stated that the upcoming match against Al-Nasr in the second leg of the quarter-finals of the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup will be difficult. He noted that Al-Nasr is not an easy team, and his club is ready to take responsibility and advance to the next round.
Shabab Al-Ahli will face Al-Nasr tomorrow in the fiery Dubai derby at the latter's stadium. In the first leg, Shabab Al-Ahli won with a score of (2-1), and to reach the semi-finals, they need a win or a draw.
Khamis, who also commented on the team's recent injuries, said: "Injuries are part of football, and all teams face them. We don't use injuries as an excuse, we have a large group of players capable of compensating for any absence. Everyone is at the level of trust and responsibility, and all players are at the coach's disposal."
He also added about his performance against Al-Gharrafa in the AFC Elite League: "It was a strong match, and we succeeded in winning and reaching the 10-point mark to advance to the next round. I thank my fellow players, and God willing, we will continue with the same level. The match was competitive, and the goal was to get the three points."
Khamis thanked coach Paulo Sousa for his trust after a long absence from matches: "Thank God, I thank the coach for his trust, and God willing, I will always be at the level of his expectations. With the help of the coach, the players, and the support of the board of directors, I appeared in a good level, and I hope to continue with this performance in the coming period."
