Former Welsh football star, a standout for Southampton, Tottenham, and Real Madrid, Gareth Bale, Wales' top scorer and most decorated player, has revealed the reason for his retirement from football after Wales' exit from the 2022 World Cup. The star, who ended his career by lifting a trophy with an American club from Los Angeles, said, "I was lucky to achieve my dream of playing the sport I love, but my father suddenly suffered a health setback. Playing in the World Cup was the last dream of my son from Cardiff, and I fulfilled it. The national team hadn't participated in the tournament for 68 years. My parents sacrificed everything for me when I was young, and without my mom and dad, I wouldn't have made it this far. People don't know what a football player endures in his family life, but I realized that there are things in life more important than football."
