Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UAE Cycling Federation, Mansour Bu Asiba, stated that "the external training camp, held in the Spanish city of Girona for 14 days, is part of the Federation's technical plan to develop the players' levels and hone their skills through external exposure and training at one of the most important European preparation centers in cycling. These camps make a difference in the medium and long term and give our players a real opportunity to elevate their technical and physical level".
He added to "Al-Ittihad": "Three players from the national team are participating in the camp: Abdullah Al-Hashimi from Al-Hamria Club, Sultan Al-Hamadi from Khorfakkan Club, and Saif Al-Ghawi from Sharjah Club, under the supervision of the national team coach Ahmed Al-Mari, who is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the daily program during the camp period".
Bu Asiba praised the prominent role played by the Sharjah Sports Council in supporting talented players from national teams as part of the gifted athletes program.
He said: "We extend our thanks to the Sharjah Sports Council for its continuous support for the players of the emirate's clubs and its keenness on nurturing gifted athletes and enabling them to gain quality professional experiences that contribute to developing their technical and physical levels".
The Chairman of the UAE Cycling Federation confirmed that the gifted athletes program aims to support selected players from national teams by providing overseas training camps, specialized technical programs, and incentive financial rewards, which contributes to building a generation capable of representing the State of the UAE honorably at regional and international forums".
