FIFA Bans Baniyas from Transfers for Three Windows

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has increased the difficulties faced by Baniyas Club, which is second to last in the ADNOC Pro League table with only 4 points after 8 rounds. FIFA has decided to ban the club from making any registrations for the next three consecutive transfer windows, a decision that is a major blow to the 'Sky Blues', who were seeking to strengthen their squad during the winter transfer window. FIFA announced on its official website that Baniyas Club will be prohibited from concluding any deals during three consecutive transfer periods. This means it will be deprived of the winter transfer window, which starts on January 13th and lasts until February 9th, as well as the summer transfer window of 2026 and the winter one at the beginning of 2027. FIFA explained that the registration ban list issued by it, which includes a large number of clubs around the world, is a vital resource for the football community, as it contains detailed data on clubs that are currently temporarily banned from registering new players by FIFA decisions. FIFA stated that the ban list includes clubs temporarily prohibited from registering new players due to various violations, such as financial disputes or regulatory breaches. As a primary tool for member associations, continental confederations, clubs, players, and agents, FIFA's registration ban list promotes transparency and compliance within the football ecosystem, enabling all stakeholders to track clubs ineligible to enter into new contracts during the ban period. It is worth noting that Baniyas Club is the only club from the ADNOC Pro League included in this list, which also includes other clubs in the country, such as Al-Gharbia and Fleetwood United, which play in the second and third divisions, respectively.
