Marino Busic, head coach of Al-Jazira, expressed great satisfaction with the victory, stating that football is ultimately decided by results, and his team deservedly secured a win, despite some periods that he was not happy with and require more work in the upcoming stage.
Al-Jazira jumped to third place in the ADNOC Pro League standings after securing an important 4-2 victory over visiting Al-Dhafra in the match that took place on Sunday as part of the ninth round of the competition.
Busic explained that the players performed well in most periods of the match, but he emphasized that the team was required to be more aggressive and decisive in the last 15 to 20 minutes of the first half, especially as the opponent did not create any real chances, yet Al-Jazira conceded goals that could have been avoided.
In a press interview, Al-Jazira's head coach said: "I am of course happy with the victory; the result is always the most important thing in football. My focus is on improving our level from match to match, especially as we have a large number of upcoming matches, in addition to the absence of some players."
He added: "We must be flexible and adapt to different circumstances, and find suitable solutions to win every match, that is the real challenge for us as a coaching staff and players."
He concluded his remarks by saying: "It is good that we are seen as a team capable of fighting and competing, but it is too early to be distracted by the league table. The most important thing is to continue to develop and maintain a winning mentality."
In turn, Busic expressed his happiness that his team scored four goals, noting that this allowed several academy players to make their first-team debut, saying: "This is very important to me, as it reflects the work we do in developing young talents and giving them the confidence and feeling that they are part of the project."
Regarding Al-Jazira's rise to third place and the possibility of entering the title race, Busic clarified: "We have been in this race for a while, not just starting today."
