The Salma Championship has attracted 5,137 participants over its editions, featuring the strongest cyclists and professional Emirati teams. The race is 200 km long. The event is held under the patronage and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktum, Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, and is organized by the Private Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai. On Sunday, the Salma Cycling Championship will host the 'Diwan of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai' race for elite men, where the top cyclists will compete for a total prize pool of one million dirhams. The elite men's competitions are held in cooperation with the 'Diwan of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai' for the second consecutive year, following the great success of last year's edition.
