Dubai Marathon, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, has announced a new partnership with Guinness World Records. This allows participants the opportunity to attempt official world records during the event, scheduled for February 1st. Participants can choose to attempt Guinness-certified records in specific categories that go beyond traditional athletic performance. These include running in fancy dress, duathlon, awareness-raising challenges, and other creative tests of endurance and group participation, all according to the official standards of the Guinness World Records. The organizers also confirmed that the 25th edition will see the highest participation rate in the event's history. They are set to announce the number of participants in the three main races—the elite 42.195km race, the 10km public race, and the 4km family race—before the event begins. A Guinness World Records team will be on hand to document and verify any record-breaking attempts. The General Coordinator of the Dubai Marathon, Ahmed Al Kamali, stated that the new edition is seeing a high participation rate from elite male and female runners with world-class times.
