UAE referee to attend FIFA course for 2026 World Cup

UAE's international video assistant referee Mohammed Obaid will participate in a FIFA course for referees shortlisted for the 2026 World Cup in North America. The course is being held in Doha.

The course, which started in Doha on Tuesday and ends on Thursday, is considered a preliminary step to include UAE's video assistant referee (VAR) Mohammed Obaid in the World Cup's officiating team. The UAE Football Association announced the participation of international VAR Mohammed Obaid in the FIFA course for VARs shortlisted for the 2026 World Cup in North America.
