Mexican cyclist Isaac del Toro of the UAE XRG team won the first opening stage of the eighth edition of the UAE Tour. The young rider (22 years old) climbed the podium wearing the red leader's jersey after covering the stage distance in 2 hours, 30 minutes, and 56 seconds, defeating the Dutchman Cees Bol and the Italian. The first stage, held in the Al Dhafra region, was initially 144 kilometers long but was reduced to 118 kilometers due to strong winds and to ensure the riders' safety. The stage was exciting, as del Toro needed a brave decision in the final meters and increased his pace to secure the first place.
