Former Man Utd coach reveals Ronaldo-Ten Hag clashes

Former Manchester United assistant manager Steve McClaren has revealed that there were numerous arguments between the team's former Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, now playing for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, and manager Erik ten Hag. These disputes occurred before Ronaldo's departure in November 2022, following his public criticism of the club, the manager, and the owners in his famous interview. McClaren said: 'There were many arguments in training sessions. The manager would tell him: 'All I want from you is to do this and this, this is your duty.' And I would tell Ronaldo: 'All ten Hag wants from you is to be the first to press to win the ball, then run with it once or twice, or even three times if you feel like keeping it, and then return to the center of the pitch if the ball is recovered.'
