13th Nad Al Sheba Sports Week Kicks Off in Dubai

Dubai, UAE, is committed to growing its sports sector by investing in infrastructure and enhancing the status of sports. The 13th Nad Al Sheba Sports Week, featuring over 11,000 athletes from around the world competing in 11 sports, kicked off on February 18 and runs until March 7, 2026.


13th Nad Al Sheba Sports Week Kicks Off in Dubai

Dubai, UAE, is committed to growing its sports sector by investing in infrastructure and enhancing the status of sports. This is evident in the launch of the 13th edition of the Nad Al Sheba Sports Week, organized by the Dubai Sports Council under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktum. The event will be held at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex from February 18 to March 7, 2026, with the participation of over 11,000 athletes competing in 11 different sports, including international tournaments featuring elite global athletes.

Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktum, President of the UAE Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, emphasized Dubai's dedication to sports development. «With unlimited support from our leadership, Dubai continues its efforts to attract and host premier sporting events, launch leading sports initiatives, and organize international meetings that the world eagerly anticipates and participates in,» he stated. These efforts, he added, translate the Council's strategy and its pursuit of sustainable development.

The sports week features a packed program including volleyball, padel, wheelchair basketball, cycling, athletics, fencing, badminton, 3x3 basketball, tug of war, jiu-jitsu, and obstacle course challenges. The event kicked off with the International Federation Silver Category Padel Championship for men and women, followed by the Nad Al Sheba International Padel Championship for the top Arab and international teams. Other competitions will be held throughout the month, catering to professional and amateur athletes, including people of determination.

Sheikh Mansour highlighted that the Nad Al Sheba Sports Week, held annually during the holy month of Ramadan, has become a much-anticipated event for athletes from within and outside the country, who look forward to the competitions and the unique atmosphere. The event will conclude with the volleyball tournament finals on March 7.
