The Dutch cyclist Quin Vermelt won the men's open cycling race yesterday, during the 13th edition of the 'Nad Al Sheba Cycling Circuit', held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The Dutch cyclist completed the race in a time of 1:29:05, winning by fractions of a second from Emirati Ahmed Al Mansouri, who finished second in the same time. Russian Kirill Miller came in third with the same time. In the category for senior citizens and residents, Algeria dominated through Abdelkader Rahmani, who took first place with a time of 1:29:08, ahead of his compatriot Nouraldine Khouchine (1:29:10). Emirati Nader Bin Hinde finished third with a time of 1:29:16. The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai won the team championship after its team recorded a total time of 4:27:17, just two seconds ahead of the White Star team, which finished second with a time of 4:27:19. The Abu Dhabi Cycling Club came third with a time of 4:27:20. In the para-cycling competitions, road cycling featured outstanding numbers, with Abdullah Salem Al Balushi winning first place with a time of 28:26, narrowly ahead of Dhiaa Al Mahiri, who finished second in the same time. Ahmed Al Badawi came third with a time of 28:31. Hussein Murad Al Mazoum won the hand cycling title after recording a time of 32:33. Tonight, the focus will be on the Nad Al Sheba padel tournament, which includes eight teams: UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Morocco, Egypt, Bahrain, Iran, and Lebanon.
