FIFA Prepares Major Changes to Football Laws

Media reports indicate that FIFA is preparing to introduce a series of significant changes to the laws of the world's most popular sport. The amendments aim to speed up the pace of the game, reduce time-wasting, and give attackers a greater advantage to increase the number of goals. According to BBC, FIFA is ready for major changes in football laws, including: 1. An injured player who leaves the field for treatment cannot return to play before at least one minute has passed. 2. A countdown system will be applied for goal kicks and throw-ins. If the time limit is exceeded, the ball will be directly awarded to the opposing team. 3. A player who leaves the field must do so within a maximum of 10 seconds, otherwise the substitute will not be allowed to enter, and the team will play with ten players until the next stoppage in play (for at least 60 seconds). 4. The powers of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) will be expanded, allowing for the review of incorrect second yellow cards using video technology. In some tournaments (at the organizers' discretion), VAR can be activated for corner kicks.
