Al Ahli VP: Draw with Al-Wasl is a positive result

Vice-president of Al Ahli FC football club, Abdel Majid Hussein, confirmed that the 1-1 draw against Al-Wasl in the 18th round of the ADNOC Pro League is a positive result given the circumstances the team went through, noting that «The Knights» presented a strong match and maintained their lead at an important stage of the season. Abdel Majid Hussein told «Al Ittihad»: «Getting a point against Al-Wasl in such circumstances is considered good. We played against a strong team that showed an exceptional level in recent matches, yet our team was present and able to secure a positive result». He explained that the circumstances accompanying the match were not easy for the team: «We suffered from absences and injuries before and during the match, the most prominent of which was Sultan Adel's injury. In the first minutes, the player was suffering from a fever before the match, but the technical staff did not have many options and preferred to involve him, however, he could not complete the half. Sultan will return stronger, God willing, and will be ready for the upcoming matches». He added: «The draw against Al-Wasl is a good result and will serve us in the coming period, especially since Al-Wasl is one of the competitors and will have a say in the upcoming rounds. A point in a match of this type is better than a loss, and we consider it a gain given the data». The vice-president of the football club addressed the fans, saying: «I thank the fans of Al Ahli for their presence and support. Their presence is very important at this sensitive stage of the season». Abdel Majid Hussein indicated that the team is entering a difficult period that requires great focus: «The team is heading towards an important challenge in the AFC Champions League against Iranian Tractor. We only have four days to prepare, and I hope that the technical staff will succeed in completing the recovery process and restoring the players' fitness before the match. The match will not be easy, and we must present a strong performance before the return leg». He concluded his speech by confirming that the team is capable of continuing to compete: «Al Ahli has the character of a champion, and if we continue to work with the same spirit, we will maintain our lead and achieve positive results in Asia as well».
