UAE Water Sports Federation Aims to Elevate National Teams

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UAE Water Sports Federation, Abdullah Al-Wahibi, confirmed that the upcoming phase will witness the elevation of national teams to higher levels and the provision of a more professional training environment. The federation will also continue the development and construction plans it initiated in recent years, especially after succeeding in establishing a large base of swimmers and preparing national teams capable of competing regionally and internationally. This came following the elections for the Board of Directors of the Water Sports Federation for the 2024-2028 term, which were held yesterday at the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee, in the presence of nine member clubs, completing the quorum for the General Assembly and completing the electoral process in all its stages. The elections resulted in the unopposed election of Abdullah Al-Wahibi as Chairman of the Board, while Sheikha Mohammed Al-Zabai won a seat on the board in the women's category. Abdullah Mubarak Al-Zahmi, Mohammed Abdullah Abu Shehab Al-Suwaidi, and Abdulwahid Mahmoud Abdullah Ismail were also approved as board members in the general category. Al-Wahibi told "Al-Ittihad": "We are proud of the trust that the clubs have renewed in us, and we consider it a great responsibility that drives us to work more in the coming phase. The past years have witnessed significant development in the federation's programs, as we built a strong base of swimmers of all ages, and we also prepared national teams that have proven their presence in continental and international tournaments. Our goal now is to elevate the national teams to higher levels, provide a more professional training environment, and enhance partnerships with clubs and academies."
