The Asian Rugby Congress has approved the Executive Committee's decision to establish a new office in Dubai. The approval came after a vote of member unions, with 27 out of 28 in attendance voting in favor of the new office. This step aims to enhance administrative and financial efficiency and facilitate communication with national unions across the continent. Kays Al-Thalafi, President of the Asian Rugby Union, described it as a historic move for the sport in Asia. The agreement with the UAE government to establish the office was signed in mid-2022, while the union's legal headquarters will remain in Hong Kong.
