The «Shahin» rugby team is preparing to participate in the Monaco Rugby Sevens tournament, starting on May 1st. This marks the team's first appearance in this tournament, following their recent achievements of winning the Malaysia and Portugal titles. The Monaco tournament is the team's first overseas event in 2026, part of an ambitious preparation program. The team will continue its international presence through a series of upcoming events, most notably participating in the Asian Clubs Championship in Sri Lanka this July, as well as the second edition of the UAE-Egypt Super Cup for 15 players in Egypt, and competing in the Emirates Dubai Rugby Sevens. According to a press statement, the team trains regularly on Mondays and Wednesdays at «The Sevens» grounds, along with physical fitness training held in the sands of Dubai on Fridays, as part of improving physical and technical readiness, while also competing in the local league, which is expected to conclude in mid-April. The team roster is missing captain Sakusa due to injury, while player Sultan Ahli has been called up to join the training to strengthen the team before the upcoming fixtures. The coaching staff of «Shahin» is led by coaches Khaldoon Malih and Yousha Shakir. In turn, UAE Rugby Federation Secretary-General Mohammed Zaabi confirmed that the «Shahin» team represents a core and direct support for the national team.
