Slot believes that Salah himself should be the one to explain the reasons for his exit, which is 12 months before his contract ends. When asked if some circles view him as the 'villain' who caused Salah to leave, especially after the player's public criticism in December following the Leeds match, Slot replied, 'But that's the general impression now, isn't it?', referring to his image among Liverpool fans after this season's setbacks. Nevertheless, Slot stressed that he would not have handled the situation any differently with the club's legend, explaining, 'Yes, I am satisfied with how I managed this matter.'
