UAE show jumping riders will participate in the World Championship, held in the German city of Aachen in August. The initial list of qualified riders with their horses includes: Sheikha Latifa Al Maktum on 'Cornet XL', Sheikh Ali Jamal Al Neaimi on 'Cobalt', Omar Al Marzouki on 'Ingwe de la Mur' and 'Shakou Bay', Hamid Al Mehairi on 'Fonchetti', Abdullah Hamid Al Mehairi on 'Shakalu and Hudson', Abdullah Al Mar'i on 'Mackregor', Saeed Al Mazimi on 'Pachoum', and Mohammed Ahmed Al Owais on 'Fara de Beaufort'. The UAE riders are preparing for the global event by progressively participating in several European championships in the coming period, aiming to enhance their physical capabilities and raise the horses' readiness for competition. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Show Jumping Committee at the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation, confirmed that the 2026 World Championship in Germany is a new milestone in the journey of international participations and a valuable addition to the series of prestigious tournaments. He also noted that the championship qualifies 7 teams for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Al Naqbi explained that the current list of qualified riders includes four who will participate in Germany, according to the final list to be announced by the technical staff. He stated that UAE riders, with their exceptional skills, high abilities, and experience gained from various international and Olympic competitions, face a significant challenge to demonstrate the progress in this sport and affirm the UAE's prominent position in external competitions.
