Nike Becomes New Ball Supplier for UEFA Champions League

American company Nike wins the bid to become the official ball supplier for the UEFA Champions League from 2027 to 2031, replacing Adidas, which held the position since 2000. Additionally, Nike will also secure the jersey sponsorship for the German national team.

Nike Becomes New Ball Supplier for UEFA Champions League

Only one year remains until the change in the design of the UEFA Champions League star-adorned ball, after manufacturer Adidas, the official ball supplier for the tournament since 2000, was defeated in competitive bids by Nike and Puma. Adidas names the tournament ball 'Finale' and changes its design every season while keeping the stars similar to the tournament's logo. However, the American giant Nike snatched the ball contract from its German rival and agreed with UEFA to be the official ball supplier for the tournament from 2027 to 2031 for 33.5 million pounds sterling, according to the report. The agreement also includes that Nike will replace the French company Decathlon through its Kipsta brand as the official ball supplier for the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League. Nike's success was not limited to the ball; the company also snatched the jersey sponsorship for the German national team from the German manufacturer for 87 million pounds sterling, starting from 2027, ending 70 years of Adidas sponsorship of Die Mannschaft.
