Within the framework of strengthening the strategic partnership between academic institutions and national sports federations, the headquarters of the UAE Basketball Federation received Professor Ziad Al-Yafai, representing the American University in the Emirates. Professor Al-Yafai was greeted upon his arrival by Mohammed Al-Hammadi, the Federation's Director, and Dr. Muner bin Sulaiman, the Federation's Technical Director. The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the university and the federation, which should contribute to the development of basketball at the national level. The discussion covered several axes focused on academic and sports aspects. The discussion explored prospects for exchanging expertise and scientific research that would help raise the level of sports training and management, as well as the development of national cadres and students through quality programs that combine academic qualification with practical application within the federation. The two parties also discussed the possibility of organizing specialized sports workshops and conferences aimed at developing basketball strategies in the United Arab Emirates. During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of integrating educational institutions and sports bodies, noting that this cooperation aligns with the country's vision of supporting and developing the sports sector.
