A certain club from Abu Dhabi is in negotiations with Portuguese coach Leonardo Jardim regarding his potential appointment as head coach of the team in the near future. An insider close to Jardim confirmed that he received an offer from one of the candidates for the title after the decision to part ways with the current coach due to unsatisfactory results.
The coach, reaching the age of 50, is keen to return to work in the UAE. He stated his willingness to lead the negotiations regarding the specifics of the contract, including its duration and annual salary. It should be noted that at this moment Jardim is not bound by a contract with any club after the Qatari club "Rayan" terminated their agreement following the conclusion of the 2023-2024 season.
Earlier, "Shabab Al-Ahli" held negotiations with the previous coach about his return to leading the team in the current season. Jardim did not oppose the idea of returning to the "Dubai Knights," but due to an unresolved contract with "Rayan" and the club's refusal to pay a penalty for premature termination, negotiations were simply halted. As a result, "Shabab Al-Ahli" signed a contract with Portuguese coach Paulo Sousa, at the time when Jardim left "Rayan."
Leonardo Jardim achieved significant success with "Dubai Knights," leading the team to win the Adnoc League title in the 2022-2023 season for the first time in seven years, marking the eighth time in the club's history. He also has impressive experience, particularly with "Al-Hilal" from Saudi Arabia, with whom he won the AFC Champions League in 2021 for the fourth time in his career, as well as the Saudi Super Cup in 2022, along with several other titles and trophies, including the championship in the French Ligue 1 with "Monaco" in the 2016-2017 season.
