The atmosphere of the sports competition and the superiority is enhanced by the participation of five athletes from the UAE in the Women's Fencing World Championship, which will take place in the sport complex Zayed in the Emirate of Fujairah. The competition is scheduled for the period from November 8 to 10 and will be organized under the aegis of the International Fencing Federation.
According to the statement by the General Secretary of the Fencing Federation, Musa Al Balushi, the national team includes the following athletes: Al-Anoud Al-Saadi, Zainab Al-Hosni, Shaikha Al-Zaabi, Miru Al-Hamadi, and Lamaar Al-Nakhala. At the moment, there are 180 participants registered from 28 countries in the competition, but the number of participants may increase before the registration closes tomorrow.
The rules of the International Federation provide for the possibility of the participation of 20 athletes from the organizing country. This circumstance prompted the Fencing Federation of the UAE to provide the opportunity for the participation of female athletes from clubs, including the national team members.
The organization and conduct of this tournament is outlined in the strategy of the Federation for the promotion of fencing in the UAE, strengthening its position on the global arena and creating opportunities for strong super champions of the national teams and local clubs.
