Kalba Coach on Need for Attacking Reinforcements

The head coach of Kalba FC, Serbian Vuk Razovic, stated that the team needs new signings during the winter transfer window to strengthen the attacking line. He pointed out that the era of former Iranian star Mehdi Ghaedi is in the past, and discussing him is no longer appropriate at this stage.

Razovic took charge of Kalba for the 2024-2025 season and has overseen 34 official matches with the team so far this season, achieving 11 wins, 10 draws, and 13 losses.

In an interview with "Emirates Today," Razovic said: "Our goal has always been and remains to make a gradual technical difference from one season to the next. This progress was seen last season compared to the one before, and we are working to make this current season better than 2024-2025."

Kalba has not yet won a single match at home this season, losing to Al-Nasr and Al-Bataeh, drawing with Al-Wahda and Shabab Al-Ahli, while their points came from wins over Bani Yas, Dibba, and Khorfakkan.

Commenting on these results, the coach said: "I agree that the results are not good, either in the league or in the President's Cup and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank President's Cup. But the season is still long, and the team has not reached full readiness yet, as some players have recently returned from injury, and others were with their national teams."

Regarding the ongoing comparisons between the current players in the team and the former player, Mehdi Ghaedi, Razovic clarified: "Ghaedi's era is over and is in the past. The current players need to perform better to compensate for his absence. We will see what the team needs in the coming period, and we will do it."

The coach also revealed that the team needs a super striker and a creative playmaker capable of creating opportunities for the Iranian striker Shahryar, saying: "One of the reasons for Shahryar's decline in scoring may be his lack of a playmaker who sets up better chances for him, and any player with high quality will be welcome. We will work with the management on suitable winter signings." He added: "We will continue to work with the current squad, and I expect the best from them. We need to make a greater effort and maintain a positive energy to get back to achieving good results."

Kalba's statistics since Razovic took charge show a clear defensive decline, with the team conceding 48 goals in 34 matches, while scoring 47 in the league. One of the reasons for Shahryar's scoring decline is his lack of a playmaker who creates better chances for him.
