Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, a member of the Federal Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, affirmed that the tourism sector is a fundamental pillar of the national economy and a key driver of sustainable development. This is due to the ambitious vision, qualitative advantages, and advanced infrastructure that the United Arab Emirates possesses, which have cemented its status as one of the world's top tourist destinations.
This came during his Highness's attendance of the 'Tourism Council' meeting, organized by the Ministry of Economy and Tourism and held at the InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah Mina Arab resort. The event, chaired by Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, saw the participation of senior officials and representatives from the tourism and hospitality sectors, along with more than 150 tourism companies and establishments from across the country.
His Highness stated that, thanks to the wise leadership of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, the country has solidified its place on the global tourism map, becoming one of the most preferred destinations in the world today. He added that the tourism sector in Ras Al Khaimah is one of the main tracks in the emirate's development strategy, launching from a clear vision aimed at achieving sustainable growth that aligns with the future, supported by expertise and enhanced by effective partnerships.
His Highness pointed out that the emirate has established a strong and diverse tourism model that supports economic growth, elevates the quality of life, and enhances its competitiveness and tourism standing in the country, region, and world. This is achieved through future planning and close cooperation with relevant entities.
Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi confirmed that the emirate will continue to boost its tourism sector, leveraging its advanced infrastructure, quality projects, and growing investments to solidify its appeal as a leading tourist destination and increase this sector's contribution to the emirate's Gross Domestic Product.
