UAE's Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports stated that investments in AI and big data analysis are fundamental to sporting excellence. He spoke at the first meeting of Asian Cooperation Dialogue sports ministers in Samara.


UAE Invest in Technologies for the Future of Sport

Investment in modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data analysis has become a fundamental factor in achieving sporting excellence and building future champions. This was stated by Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajri, UAE's Ministry of Youth and Sports representative, at the first meeting of the Ministers of Sport of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue. The meeting, held under the theme 'From Tradition to Innovation: The Future of Sport in the Asia Cooperation Dialogue,' took place on the sidelines of the 13th International Sports Forum 'Russia — the Country of Sport' in the city of Samara. Al Hajri highlighted that investing in modern technologies is now a key factor in sporting excellence. He also reviewed part of the country's strategy to develop its sports system through an innovation-driven environment and by adopting projects aimed at discovering young talents who represent a launchpad for any sustainable development in the sports sector. 'The youth are the energy of the future, and our investment in them is an investment in the sustainability of sporting achievements and the extension of their positive impact on society as a whole,' he affirmed. The ministerial meeting of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue discussed several important files, foremost among them enhancing cooperation between Asian countries in sports infrastructure, discovering talents, developing competencies capable of competing, and expanding the base of community participation in sports activities, in addition to exploring ways to exchange expertise on modern sports policies and innovation mechanisms in training and sports management. The Asia Cooperation Dialogue is a regional framework established in 2002 in Bangkok, Thailand, and has more than 35 Asian countries as its members. The organization aims to enhance integration and cooperation among Asian countries in various fields, including economy, culture, education, science, and technology, as well as youth and sports sectors, by activating dialogue channels and coordinating Asian positions towards issues of common interest, which contributes to cementing the status of the Asian continent as an effective and influential force in the international arena. Al Hajri confirmed during the meeting that the UAE, under the wise leadership of its leadership, attaches great importance to enhancing frameworks of international cooperation in various sectors, especially the vital sports sector, saying: 'Sport has become a universal language capable of building bridges of cooperation between nations, enhancing friendship, understanding, and human rapprochement between the peoples of Asia and the world.' He added in a press statement issued by the Ministry of Sports: 'The rapid technological development has made sports innovation a key axis in the future of sports, whether in developing physical performance and improving training methods or in the field of smart governance and data analysis.'
