Consumers reported that 'today's Emirates' indicates that several sales points have launched innovative and unusual offerings, such as proposals during the Ramadan month, offers at the beginning and end of the month, as well as proposals at the beginning and end of the week, aimed at attracting consumers and stimulating sales.
One consumer, Fadi Abdelmajid, noted: 'Sales points are offering discount promotions under new names that were previously not used, such as (preparation for Ramadan), (beginning of the month), and (end of the month), plus promotions at the beginning and end of the week, even stores offer special promotions during the week.' He also added that the innovations in these proposals are positive practices that should continue to develop in the future and provide value to families and consumers as a whole.
Another consumer, Yasser Abdallah, noted that retail outlets have begun to offer discounts under unusual names that are not typically used for everyday shoppers. He emphasized that most previous offerings were linked to specific events and holidays.
Dilip Vishak, purchasing director in one of the retail chains, stated that retail markets are experiencing significant growth due to an increase in the number of residents, tourist traffic, and business-to-business activities, which has prompted many sales points to develop new promotions and offers to attract consumers and increase market share.
Industry expert Ibragim al-Bakhr noted that offering promotions and discounts under innovative names is a modern method that many sales points use to attract consumers and increase their market share in the context of rising competition in the retail sector.
