Launch of the First Digital Taxi Booking Service in Sharjah

The Sharjah Asset Management Company has launched a pilot digital taxi booking service via the Yango app, enhancing transportation access and convenience for residents. This initiative aims to support the local economy and improve daily life for citizens and residents in Sharjah.

The Asset Management Company of Sharjah Emirate, regulated by the government, has announced the launch of a test version of its first digital taxi service via the Yango application in partnership with the global technology company "Yango Group." The aim of this collaboration is to develop the transportation sector in Sharjah, as well as to provide accessible, fast, and convenient services for users.

The interim director of the group, Walid Al-Saig, stated: "The launch of the application is in the testing stage, in accordance with the long-term vision of the asset management company and the strategy aimed at creating additional value for society. This reflects Sharjah's commitment to the integration of innovative technological solutions in the transportation sphere to ensure a sustainable and effective system for the movement of the population."

The general director of Sharjah for taxis, Khalid Al-Kandi, added that the launch of this test version of the digital service will contribute to the development of the local economy and provide a comfortable service for the residents and visitors of the emirate. According to Al-Kandi, the application will start its operations with 500 taxis, which will be launched during the trial period across the entire emirate starting from February 25, 2025.

Islam Abdulkareem, the regional director of the Yango company in the Middle East, expressed pride in the collaboration with the asset management company of Sharjah in launching this transformational initiative.
