SNOC Successfully Drills and Tests New Gas Well in Sharjah

The Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) has announced a new achievement following the successful drilling and testing of the second well, "Hadiba-02", located north of the As-Sijah field in Sharjah. This work is part of the company's appraisal and development program for the onshore Hadiba gas field. The results of completing the drilling and testing of well "Hadiba-02" indicated the presence of additional gas reserves. The well was drilled to a total depth of 13,200 feet, and in the coming months, it will be connected to the production line. The drilling program for the Hadiba field will continue in the coming months to fully assess the extent of the field's reserves. This achievement marks a significant step in the field's development after the discovery of the first well, "Hadiba-01", in 2024, which confirmed the presence of gas and associated liquids in geological formations known as "Thamama". Well "Hadiba-01" was brought on stream in a short period, contributing to enhancing energy supplies in the emirate. The "Hadiba" field is the fifth onshore gas and condensate field in the emirate of Sharjah and the second discovery in the last five years, reflecting the success of Sharjah's continuous efforts in exploration. Engineer Khameez Al-Zarouni, Executive Director of the Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC), stated that the success in drilling and testing well "Hadiba-02" represents a significant milestone in SNOC's journey to enhance the emirate's capabilities in meeting long-term energy demands and ensuring energy security. This achievement reflects the corporation's unwavering commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth by continuing to develop the emirate's natural gas potential, which contributes to achieving the vision of ensuring a reliable energy supply for Sharjah and building a stronger and more resilient foundation for its future. Meanwhile, Masoud Al-Hamadi, Executive Director of Exploration and Production at the Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC), said: "The success of testing well 'Hadiba-02' is the result of an outstanding collective effort that encompassed geophysical and engineering studies stages, up to planning and execution stages. This achievement demonstrates the corporation's ability to effectively and efficiently convert new discoveries into production." The Sharjah National Oil Corporation reaffirms its commitment to continuing to enhance the energy independence of the Emirate of Sharjah through the exploration and development of its hydrocarbon resources, supported by its strategic infrastructure for gas storage and processing. The results of completing the drilling and testing of well "Hadiba-02" showed the presence of additional gas reserves, where the well was drilled to a total depth of 13,200 feet, and in the coming months, it will be connected to the production line, with the continuation of the drilling program for the Hadiba field in the coming months to fully assess the extent of the field's reserves.
