The Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority issued 8,385 'no-objection' certificates for road, excavation, and construction works for new and existing projects across various areas in Sharjah city throughout 2025. These certificates cover projects requiring the connection, alteration, or upgrading of electricity, water, gas, and fiber optic lines, as well as the updating of geographic information systems for 24,001 projects to extend service networks. This is part of the authority's efforts to streamline licensing and approval procedures for project implementation. Ahmed Al-Bas, Deputy Director of the Electricity Distribution Department, explained that the authority continues its efforts to meet the needs of the emirate's residents and deliver services in the shortest time possible with high quality and efficiency. It also focuses on developing many of its services and transforming them into digital ones, with applications for no-objection certificates for new and existing projects being submitted and received through a smart platform to facilitate the application process and keep pace with the authority's digital transformation.
