
The modern meeting of the first council of the Writers' Union of the USSR discussed plans for the development of the magazines "Investigations" and "Literary Affairs" this year. Plans for the participation of the Union in book exhibitions in Egypt, India, and Morocco, as well as at the cultural forum in Bahrain, were presented. At the meeting, which took place in the Sharjah Book Palace, the council was chaired by Dr. Sultan Al-Aimi. The meeting included participation from the deputy chairman of the council, the director of the branch in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Al-Jaberi, the general secretary Sheikh Al-Mutairi, the director of the publishing and distribution department, Dr. Aisha Al-Shamsi, the director of the social relations department, Saif Al-Jaberi, responsible for cultural issues, Maryam Az-Zarouni, and the financial director Mohsen Salim. On the agenda of the meeting were issues regarding the acceptance of new members into the union, the consideration of submitted applications, and familiarization with the structure of the presented works. Participants emphasized the importance of continuing the cultural activity of the Union and also discussed the details of the new cycle of the Ghanem Ghabashin Prize for 2025.
