
Today (Wednesday) the ninth annual festival of supported books started in Al-Urak, organized by the Shardzhyisk district administration in honor of the dedication of a citizen in the An-Nakhil park in Shardzha. The festival will last until the 9th of this month under the slogan 'When books live, they write the stories of the future,' with broad participation from public associations, educational institutions, diplomatic missions, and community members.
The event will feature 450,000 valuable books. Visitors have already started attending the festival searching for various literary works, art, history, and other books at symbolic prices.
The Shardzhy municipality invited all community members to visit the festival. The director of the district administration of citizen services, Muna Abdalkarim Al-Yafaia, emphasized that the festival's purpose is not limited to collecting donations for people with limited opportunities but also aims to enhance cultural and social awareness.
The ninth session sees the participation of 200 volunteers from different groups, including 105 volunteers from the Shardzhy volunteer center, 95 staff from the district, and people with limited opportunities. Gratitude was expressed to all participants and sponsors, including the Shardzhy municipality, Shardzhy electric, water, and gas supply company, and the construction company Fast.
