Sharjah Classic Car Festival Attracts Youth Enthusiasts

An expert with ten years of experience in the automotive industry has highlighted a special interest of the youth in classic cars, which have occupied a significant place in the market. Some rare models can cost over 100 thousand dirhams, depending on the degree of aging, authenticity, and characteristics such as mechanics and design.

**"Why do classic cars still retain their charm and attract new generations of enthusiasts, despite the pressure of the modern world towards contemporaneity and innovation?"**

The discussion on 'classics' took place against the backdrop of a youth visit to the "Festival of Classic Cars in Sharjah," where young people seek vintage models and strive to preserve their authenticity or make modifications that reflect their taste. What drives them to this? How do they cope with the challenges of maintaining such cars and sourcing spare parts? Do they consider old cars just a hobby or a future investment?

In relation to the popularity among youth towards classic cars, Vyaed Al-Dosari noted that social networks have played a key role in the attention given to classic cars after new automobiles have received preferential focus. The rise in prices for new cars and their lack of unique individuality prompted many young people to seek more original alternatives, where the old car reflects the character of its owner.

Mansur Al-Manaai emphasized that owners of classic cars should have basic skills for troubleshooting to save time and money, deciding on repairing (the car) themselves or, at least, understanding the reasons for problems before taking it to a service center.

Regarding modifications, Ibrahim bin Saifan ash-Shamsi states that a classic car in its original state tends to be valued higher and is preferably preserved without changes, unless there is a need, for example, if original spare parts are unavailable.

The source also notes that youth differ in their preferences concerning modifications, focusing their attention on enhancing the production quality through modifying the engine and transmission, while others are more interested in external improvements such as sound or exterior appearance.

From the perspective of hobbies and investments among youth, Ahmed Rashid at-Tamimi believes that classic cars are not just a hobby or passion, but a potential investment opportunity.
