
In the framework of the ninth ceremony, the winners of the 'Best Freelance Photographer' and 'Objective of the World' nominations were awarded yesterday evening for their outstanding work in the field of photography and global visual representation.
The Palestinian photographer Sacha El-Gura became the laureate of the first place in the 'Best Freelance Photographer' nomination. Within the framework of the program 'Objective of the World,' 12 photographs were noted, which shared their creative visions from various angles of the world.
The awards were presented by the director of the press service of the Sharjah government, Tarek Saidoom Allah in the presence of media representatives, artists, and photography practitioners.
Sacha El-Gura won for his project 'No Way Back,' reflecting the aftermath of war in the Gaza sector. The second place was taken by the Palestinian photographer Mustafa Hasan for his work, showing the consequences of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Within the framework of the program 'Objective of the World,' photographs and photographers were noted, presenting their artistic visions that reflect contemporary ecological, cultural, and humanitarian problems.
The work of photographer Edite Chelibey from Africa is focused on the study of identity and childhood, while Andrey Issibov showcased a unique vision of secondary use of automobile shins in Lagos, emphasizing ecological and innovative components in his work.
Additionally, projects from Asia, by Fecret Dilikh Yurdakul documented the life of workers in brick factories of Southeast Asia, while Ronnika Zakria captured the everyday life of timber merchants in Indonesia.
In Europe, Natella Grigalashvili presented a traditional way of life of shepherds, and Ingmar Börn Noltintig raised questions about climatic changes in Germany, showcasing the challenges of the transition to carbon neutrality.
Reflecting the diversity of winning projects, the program 'Objective of the World' demonstrates the dedication of the 'Expodjer' festival to cultural exchange through imagery, highlighting the strength of visual representation in conveying human stories through the eyes of photographers from different corners of the world.
