Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Hamid bin Sagr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Cultural Chess Club, presented a new program for the development of chess sports in the city.
He stated: "We strive to expand participation in chess among the residents of Sharjah and support interest in this engaging game, especially among the youth. Our program offers various events and training sessions for players of all levels, from beginners to professionals."
Sheikh Khalid also underscored the importance of popularizing chess among the youth and supporting talented players to participate in national and international competitions.
He added: "We are convinced that chess contributes to mental development, logical thinking, and the adoption of reasoned decisions; therefore, our club aims to incorporate this engaging game into the daily lives of as many residents as possible."
