The Sharjah Book Authority has announced a dedicated visitor shuttle service from pick-up points in Sharjah, Dubai, and Ajman to the venue of the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair, taking place at Sharjah Expo from November 5th to 16th. This initiative aims to facilitate visitor movement during the region's largest cultural event.
The authority has allocated two buses for visitor transport: one from Dubai and another from Ajman. They will depart from Rashidiya Bus Station in Dubai and City Center Ajman parking, operating three trips daily over a 12-hour period.
Additionally, a marine ferry service (FR5) is available, allowing visitors coming from Dubai to reach Sharjah via the sea route between Dubai's Al Ghubaiba Marine Station and Sharjah's Al Marba Waterfront Station. Visitors can then complete their journey for free from the 'Al Marba Waterfront Station' and 'Al Qasaba' stops to the Sharjah Expo Marina station via boats operating throughout the fair's hours.
In his statement, Badr Mohammad Saab, Director of Government Communication at the Sharjah Book Authority, said: 'The diversification of transport options for visitors to the Sharjah International Book Fair stems from the significant annual turnout the fair receives. It brings together visitors and audiences from around the world and all emirates of the country, necessitating the provision of comfortable and varied transport options to ensure everyone can access the event without hassle. Our team works to ensure a seamless and integrated experience for visitors from the moment they leave their homes until they depart the fair site, by coordinating efforts with all relevant parties.' He also expressed his gratitude to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai for their continuous cooperation, which reflects the integration of work between state institutions to serve culture and knowledge.
This initiative is part of the Sharjah Book Authority's commitment to providing a comfortable and smooth experience for all visitors, enabling them to reach the fair with ease.
