The initiative aims to encourage the emirate's residents to take up water sports and lead a healthy lifestyle. The event was held on the scenic Sharjah Corniche and attracted a large number of participants, from novices to experienced rowers.
'Sports bring people together and strengthen social ties,' stated the Police Commander. 'We are proud to support such initiatives that contribute to the development of our emirate's sports infrastructure.'
The organizers noted that 'Step and Paddle' will become an annual event aimed at popularizing rowing and kayaking among the public.
